Work has started on Eden’s exciting new development at the wharf.

The Eden Welcome Centre will be a new building located on the fisherman’s co-op site at the wharf in Eden. The new Welcome Centre will be located adjacent to Eden Ice Works within close proximity of the recently completed cruise wharf.

Designed by the award-winning architectural firm Cox (who also designed the Bermagui Fishermen’s Wharf), the building will be a welcome centre for cruise passengers and also improve the experience for the local community and other visitors to Eden and Snug Cove.

The structure and cladding will be made from native hardwoods from the region as a tribute to the local timber industry and encompass feature from Eden’s rich maritime and fishing industry. Celebrating the town’s main industries of fishing, forestry and tourism, the building is intended to act as a symbol of an optimistic future for Eden.

The Welcome Centre will be two stories with the Visitor Centre relocating to this space and the upper floor will house multi-agency staff with maritime responsibilities and other commercial uses.
