COMMUNITY OPEN DAYS

10am-2pm

SATURDAY 1ST MAY & SUNDAY 2ND MAY

The Eden Visitor Information Centre & Bega Valley Regional Gallery are throwing open their doors and welcoming the community to the launch of the Eden Visitor Information Centre’s new space at Snug Cove.

Port Authority of NSW, the Eden Visitor Information Centre and the Bega Valley Regional Gallery all felt it was important that the local community be amongst the first to view the state of the art facility, so jointly collaborated to create a weekend of celebration for 10am – 2pm on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May.

Visitors to Snug Cove will be able to wander through the new Eden Visitor Information Centre, as well as view the Bega Valley Regional Gallery’s first nations exhibition – Nhawandji / Nanda Beeyaa (I see you, killer whale).

Saturday will see 2EC onsite doing a live broadcast, a free sausage sizzle from local community group ESSCI, as well as a performance by FLING Physical Theatre in the morning at 10.30am and Flowidity roving hula hoop performer in the afternoon from 12noon-2pm.  Throughout the day there will be markets running in the Welcome Centre colonnade and buskers playing live music.

Sunday will see the colonnade space transformed from market area to pop up art studio space – showcasing works from local artisans who will be onsite showing their skills.  The Kameruka Bush Orchestra will be livening things up in the morning from 10am-12pm, and from 12noon-2pm, Melanie Horsnell will grace visitors with her stunning vocals.

There will be food available to purchase from an array of food trucks for the entire weekend, including Fry Daze (fresh local fish and chips), Le Crepe Mobile (French style crepes and pancakes), Banjo’s Oysters (freshly shucked oysters, and crayfish), and Sapphire Coast Eats (pizza van).  Coffee will be available both days.

The event is sponsored by Port Authority.
